As project architect with Hilliard Architects, Joel Baumgardner worked with the YMCA of San Francisco and the National Park Service in the landmark Presidio Army Base.  Two gymnasiums and an indoor swimming pool were renovated and brought up to code on a very tight budget.  The project represents some the earliest renovation work on the old base.
